John goes to great lengths (actually, not just figuratively) to drape his mesquite tree with strand after strand of Christmas lights. As you can see from the photo, some of those branches are quite a ways above the ground. I captured a few photos of it.

I was able to get back down to the Saguaro National Park East this past Tuesday. It is located on the SE side of Tucson. Got there about 7:15am, it was 39 degrees. Don’t get a lot of “fall leaves” here in Phoenix, but we do have some color on the ocotillo and a last gasp from the plants before the mild winter sets in. Ocotillos and sunflowers.
